Frequently Asked Questions
What is Valta?+
Valta is a financial control and governance layer for autonomous software. It gives AI agents governed financial access through enforceable spending policies, wallet state, and a tamper-evident audit trail.
Does Valta hold custody of funds?+
Valta is not the settlement custodian. Valta authorizes and records financial actions while the underlying payment rails execute settlement — policy enforcement and evidence stay separate from the rail moving the money.
How do spending policies work?+
You can set hard limits for an agent — per-transaction and daily spending caps, for example. Financial actions are evaluated against policy before they're allowed to proceed.
What happens if an agent tries to overspend?+
The action is blocked before execution, the relevant policy violation is recorded, and the event appears in the audit trail.
What does the audit trail show?+
Valta records financial attempts, approvals, blocks, and policy violations in an ordered, hash-chained history that can be inspected and exported.
What does beta mean?+
Valta is currently in beta. APIs and features are still being refined and may change. Core platform features are free during beta — see the pricing and transparency pages for current billing details.
